This all seems doable to me; my fingers are crossed. I know that students can get college credit in high school (and I don't mean AP classes). Can you imagine a world now without podcasting? I'd like to see your plan for urban schools that desperately need a surge of energy and information.

There are several ideas in your vision which I hope do come true. We are seeing an increasing number of youth in high school where the traditional setting is no longer working. To have a "middle college" which is intensely career and vocationally focused would help meet their needs. We certainly are failing them as the system is now. I also believe that students will not only be taking classes at their home schools but online at other public schools. We can not have teachers who are experts in all specialty classes in all schools. The online component would certainly help those experts be available to many.

I really like the changes that you envision for the student. The ability to graduate with college credit already completed or to leave high school "career ready". The thought that the student's learning and interest needs would both be meet is encouraging to consider.
